Morgedal Winter Games 2012 - A telemark gathering

Sondre Norheim of Morgedal started a ski sport revolution which changed the way the world would ski - and he did it on a pair of Telemark skis!

From March 1st to the 4th we are welcoming Telemark skiers from around the world to gather in the birthplace of ski sport and the home of Telemark Skiing.

Once in a lifetime every skier needs to make the journey to the source, the wellspring - the root place of Telemark Sking.... that place is Morgedal in Telemark, Norway. In the words of Telemark Skier Magazine; "Morgedal is Mecca". Our telemark gathering gives skiers the opportunity to make their skiers pilgrimage, learning and celebrating the heritage of this graceful and soulful discipline.

Morgedal - a valley, not a resort:

Before you book, keep in mind that this will be a unique and very different type of event / festival from what you may have experienced before.... Morgedal is not a ski resort, there are no chairlifts, cable cars, on mountain resturants or après ski... just a small, simple valley with a unique heritage and a place where people have always loved to ski.The Morgedal Games is a telemark gathering which will celebrate the unique heritage of this most graceful sport and will attract telemark skiers from around the globe who are wanting to connect with the soul of Tele and enjoy the simple things that this beautiful little valley has to offer.
