Summer concert at ØverbøOn Saturday the 7th June on a beautiful summer evening Morgedal Utvikling, Morgedal IL and the Norsk Skieventyr celebrated Sondre Norheim's birthday with a concert up at Øverbø, Morgedal. The "Sondre Ski Legend cabaret" launched the Sogeland series of performances and events for 2008. Author and director, Olav Mosdøl did a great job in researching and stitching together a workable plot. Composer and guitarist Gisle Krogseth delivered a sensitive and compelling score and together they have succeeded in creating a very pleasing musical retelling of Sondre's life.
Over 120 people enjoyed some moments of "summer magic" at Øverbø, with many locals making the trek up the hill. Only a small group stayed up the hill to dance into the small hours, but those who stayed has a good time. It was a great evening and a special way to celebrate the birth of Sondre Norheim. Thanks to all those who came in support of this event, with a special thank you to MIL members who gave of their time and resources to help us out on the night. This is an annual event, so if you missed out this year - make sure you join us in 2009. See you then!
