Øverbø
You are now on historical ground! For the first time for a very long time, there is now the opportunity to stay up in the cotters farm where ski legend Sondre Norheim was born. This cottage is a replica of one of the cottages Sondre lived in back in the 1860's. At almost 600 meters above sea level the cottage has amazing views over Morgedal and the higher mountains beyond the valley. Opposite the cottage stands the tiny "hytte" where Sondre was born and spent the first years of his life. It is here that the Olympic flame was lit for the winter games in Olso 1952, Squaw Valley 1960 and Lillehammer 1994.
With beds for 4 - 5 people, the cottage has power but you will need to bring your own water or use the small well outside. There is a 400 meter walk up to the cottage. Come and stay in the place of legends! This cabin is very special - check out the independant website made by guests who stayed here for a week in winter.
