2009 Race Report124 athletes turned up to compete in our 2009 event... the sun shone and it was a great day in the cradle of skiing... Record numbers and a super wet course made for exciting racing in the Mountain Challenge and Morgedal Classic. In the Challenge Per Gunnar Mustad had to work very hard to take the lead from Bjørn Håvar Evjen who had set a smoking lead coming off the Kayak leg. Mustad took out the overall title for the 3rd year in a row in a race he has truly claimed as his. Malin Lundvik had a strong race and did enough to hold out Brita Celilie Mustad in her bid to be the first woman home. There was good competition in the teams section with the team from ILA Jern (Hjertnæs, Bergseth and Straalberg) taking out the teams title in 2.57:24 In the Morgedal Classic event Kolbjørn Eikrem (Flatdal IL) set a new course record crossing the line first in an impressive 44:50. Second overall and the first team to finish was Kjelsåsgutta with the time 45:00 Just 12 seconds behind Eikrem, Mørten Kvålseth (MIL) was first open man and 3rd overall. Tina Raisbæk (Aktivitetskompaniet) was first woman in with the time of 54:50 Overall it was a great day of racing - there were many sporty people who tried Multisport for the first time and plenty who came back to test themselves again this year. Competitors in the Mountain Challenge gave the long race the thumbs up as a course that delivers for those who were wanting a real test in often rugged and technical terrain. Race images are now available to view and purchase here: Thanks to all those who came to compete, watch or help out in 2009. You made the day a great one! 2009 Results (PDF format) resultater_morgedal_multisport_2009_challenge.pdf resultater_morgedal_multisport_2009_classic.pdf resultater_morgedal_multisport_2009_pr_disiplin.pdf
